What if I Fail?

FAIL? What is failure to you?

A soured relationship, an unsuccessful project, an incomplete accomplishment, no gain in finances, no rise in income, a dip in reputation, a passion unfulfilled, a loss in a competition. WHAT?

Anything you want to do or gain, and it does not happen. You failed.

You did not fail. The project failed. The idea failed.

“Failure” is a stepping stone. It teaches us what NOT to do the next time. Exactly what Thomas Edison said. How many times did he fail in inventing the light bulb? 1000 times. And each time he thought “Ok, this is what I should NOT do, NOT repeat.” He was at it again. So after countless failed attempts, did he succeed? YES, and….how!!

If you feel you have failed, it’s okay to accept the feeling, the emotion. But this does not define you.

Earlier, when I shot videos and spoke, I would need countless takes and I would feel that I failed, every time, to say voice my thoughts correctly. Yet I overcame my limiting belief by practicing, and over time now, I anchor to large audiences without a script in my hand, and shoot reels and videos in 1 or maximum 2 takes. (Proud of myself for that.)

In our endeavours, let’s not feel the need to change our goal. Let’s find alternate paths to get to our destination. Let’s reflect on our experiences and learn from them to move forward with a growth mindset, and with the same gusto.

Let’s FAIL FORWARD!

Here are some questions that we can ask ourselves, and even people we coach to overcome our limited beliefs to achieve our goals.

Overcoming Limited Beliefs to achieve your Goal:

  • How is it that achieving this goal will positively impact you and the other person?
  • If you knew you couldn’t fail, what would you do?
  • What (people) and how (yourself) would you love to see, hear and feel when you achieve it?
  • What would happen if you didn’t achieve your goal?
  • What is the small/first/quick step you can take right now to progress towards your goal?
  • By saying yes, what are you saying no to?
  • What from the options is REALLY important to you?
  • What are you focusing on today?
  • By when do you want to achieve this? What purpose will it serve?

Keep on going. Keep on going. Keep on going. The SUCCCESS is there for you to see, feel, experience and savor.

Have any more questions to add to the above? Any thoughts to add? I would love to know.
